"The Melody Ross Memorial Trust Account is an account established by the Superintendent of Schools, and President of the Long Beach Education Foundation. This account is established to receive funds for costs associated with her death such as her funeral and related costs, costs her parents may incur due to her tragic death, possibly for assistance for the family, or to ease the burden for her siblings when they want to go to college.

This will not simply be a scholarship fund, but rather a broad account to be used for many expenditures, all relating to Melody Ross. It may also include scholarships. It may include programs to prevent tragedies such as this one from occurring again."

Local Small Business Honored At Formal State Recognition Celebration

Selected from among 3. 7 million small companies in California



Sacramento, CA -- A crowd of 500 business leaders, legislators, corporate partners, and small business dignitaries applauded as Alondra Hot Wings was honored as “ California Small Business of the Year ” for District #30. Garo, Danny, and Harout Kazarian received this special recognition from local legislator Senator Ron Calderon to applaud a single district-based small business for exemplifying the contributions of the California’s 3.7 million small business owners to the California economy.

The award was announced on May 26th at the annual California Small Business Day in Sacramento, and Alondra Hot Wings joined small businesses of the year identified in over 75 state legislative districts. Scores of legislators joined in chorus to salute the spirit of entrepreneurship among California’s small business owners and operators throughout the day-long event.

“We were humbled to have been selected for this award and it is a tribute to our employees, customers, and community,” said the Kazarian brothers. “This is a special event when government, businesses, associations and community come together to honor the small business contributions of innovation, job creation and economic growth to the State of California,” said Betty Jo Toccoli, President of the California Small Business Association, on behalf of the two-dozen small business organizations hosting the event.

Small businesses serve as the primary economic engine that drives the state’s economy. Over one-half of Californians employed in the private sector work for a small business. The state’s small firms produce more new jobs, more inventions, and more patents, than any other size company in California or any other state in the nation.

On April 28, 2009 Alondra Hot Wings celebrated their Pre-Grand Opening Celebration by inviting Montebello and Alhambra City Council and Chamber of Commerce members to view their new restaurant site in Alhambra, CA. The Kazarian brothers, speaking on behalf of My World Enterprises, welcomed and appreciated all the support from the mayors of Montebello, Alhambra, and San Marino cities, as well as all of the efforts from the city councilmen, ambassadors, and other chamber members to help Alondra Hot Wings be embraced by all of the local communities and supported through all of the diverse demographic groups found in each region they represented. Thank you to everyone who came and showed support for our cause.

MySpace has plenty of info about the brothers’ burgeoning chain. Garo, Danny and Harout “Joey” Kazarian opened their first hot wing emporium in Paramount (the city, not the studio) in 2002. Now they have additional branches in Montebello and Long Beach. Expect 16 different varieties of hot wings, including one with “atomic hot sauce” that requires a waiver. Alondra Hot Wings also makes 18 different New York-style pizzas, Philly cheese steak and Boston pastrami sandwiches. The space features an “American mobsters theme.” If your stomach survives the atomic wing, the Kazarians offer deep-fried Twinkies for dessert.
